It started with a simple wish: I wanted to keep an eye on my heart, right on my phone. But every app I tried was stuffed with subscriptions, ads, and paywalls — for something a modern iPhone can basically do on its own. I kept thinking: why isn't this simply built into the phone?
So I sat down and wrote the app I had been looking for.
Heart thrum measures your pulse with the iPhone camera. That's it. No ads. No subscriptions. No account. No data collection. No tricks. Just an app that works.
One honest note: what I originally went looking for was my blood pressure — but a phone camera cannot measure blood pressure reliably, and no app can. That's why Heart thrum doesn't pretend to. It measures what the camera really can: your pulse.

Am Anfang stand ein einfacher Wunsch: Ich wollte mein Herz im Blick behalten, direkt am Handy. Aber jede App, die ich ausprobierte, war vollgestopft mit Abos, Werbung und Bezahlschranken — für etwas, das ein modernes iPhone im Grunde von selbst kann. Ich dachte immer wieder: Warum ist das nicht einfach im Telefon eingebaut?
Also habe ich mich hingesetzt und die App geschrieben, die ich gesucht hatte.
Heart thrum misst deinen Puls mit der iPhone-Kamera. Das ist alles. Keine Werbung. Keine Abos. Kein Konto. Keine Datensammlung. Keine Tricks. Einfach eine App, die funktioniert.
Ein ehrliches Wort: Ursprünglich wollte ich meinen Blutdruck messen — aber eine Handykamera kann Blutdruck nicht zuverlässig messen, keine App kann das. Deshalb tut Heart thrum auch nicht so. Es misst, was die Kamera wirklich kann: deinen Puls.
